Clive Palmer album

Due for release on 11 October 2004 is a new album from Clive Palmer. All Roads Lead to Land is a largely solo effort.

More Incredible String Band dates

The Incredible String Band have announced a series of dates across the USA as well as a further four in Spain. There are also three solo dates from Clive Palmer to support his new album. Robin and Bina Williamson continue their workshop and concert series.

Live at the Lowry

The DVD of the concert filmed at the Lowry Theatre in Salford is due for release at the beginning of May.

Nebulous Nearnesses

The forthcoming album by incrediblestrinband2003 is Nebulous Nearnesses and should be released to coincide with the spring 2004 tour. A limited edition of the album will be available for all those who attended the recording sessions early in 2004. A DVD release filmed in Salford is due in April 2004.

2004 tour news

A UK tour is due to run from mid-April until early May 2004. This is followed by a Spanish tour. Gavin Dickie has now become a full member of the band.

Addition for dates

Gavin Dickie will be joining the band for the shows at Glasgow, Aberdeen, Sheffield, London and the Real World recording on bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals. Steini Gudumundsson will be joining the band at the Real World recording on tablas and percussion.

The concert at the Lowry, Salford is to be filmed for release on DVD next year.

Radio Stars

Adrian Whittaker will be guesting on the left-field radio station Resonance FM  (104.4 FM) on Tuesday October 6th from 7.00 - 8.30 in their 'Clear Spot' series. The programme will be dedicated to the ISB and the Helter Skelter book about them published the same week, and will feature a mixture of ISB music and extracts from the book.

Sundazed Music in the US has reissued the first three Incredible String Band albums on 180g vinyl.

Canterbury Fayre

The incrediblestringband2003 is playing on the same bill as Robert Plant and Roy Harper on Saturday 23 August at the Canterbury Fayre. Also playing the same evening are Debbie Bonham (very impressive at 2001's Steve Marriott Memorial Event) and John Otway.

The book launch

The beGlad book will be launched at the Border Bookshop in Islington, London, on 8 October at 6.30pm. Norman Lamont and the acoustic trio Cloud Cuckoo will be performing Incredible String Band songs.

Be present at the forthcoming incrediblestringband2003 recording

Recording In The Real World. The incrediblestringband2003 will be taking time out from their forthcoming Autumn tour to record a ‘live in the studio’ album to showcase their touring repertoire. The location for the recording will be Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in the rural splendor of Box, Wiltshire (Gabriel is a longtime fan of the band’s music), and the sessions will take place in front of an invited audience. Rare ISB CDs

Two Incredible String Band CDs are available. Philadelphia Folk Festival 1969 is an "official" release of a bootleg recording and said to be one of the best live recordings of the String Band. Heritage is a compilation CD including some rare and unissued tracks such as Giles Crocodile

Spirit of Life Concert Series

Robin and Bina Williamson are presenting an ongoing series of seasonal concerts for Candelmas, May, Lammas and All-Hallows and in celebration of life. These are based around the traditions of Celtic spirituality and features the East-West blend of Robin and Bina's voices.

IncredibleStringBand2003

Following the recent tours by the Incredible String Band, Robin has decided to leave to concentrate on his many solo projects. However, Mike, Clive and Lawson will be continuing as incrediblestringband2003 with the additional of multi-instrumentalist and singer Fluff. A number of dates has already been arranged and will include the re-introduction of A Very Cellular Song amongst mostly material from the first five albums. The April US tour has been cancelled but new dates are already planned.

Smiling Men with Bad Reputations

An eagerly re-release of Mike Heron's first solo album is due in the Spring. This is a remastered CD and includes the lyrics included in the booklet and a forward by Joe Boyd.

The latest issue of the magazine Be Glad for the Song Has No Ending contained the sad news that it is to be the last issue.

String rising

The annual Record Collector survey of the most collectable artists notes that the Incredible String were the year's second highest climbers, moving from 424 to 118!

U release on CD finally!

The first-ever CD release of U is due for July 2002. I Looked Up will also be available for the first time in the UK on CD. Both these albums will include sleeve notes by Robin Williamson and Mike Heron. The sleeve for I Looked Up will be the original, different from the 1993 US CD release. 

In the US, The first album and Liquid Acrobat As Regards the Air will be released.

O for Summer

A new release from the Famous Jug Band (featuring Clive Palmer on banjo) is O for Summer. This was recorded in 2000 and band member Michael "Henry" Bartlett has since died of a heart attack. The CD is available in the UK from amazon.co.uk.

Mike and Lawson

During January, Unique Gravity is releasing a CD by Mike and Lawson Dando of the songs that they have been performing live during recent gigs. Futurefields includes studio recordings of the songs. There are also plans for a video of them playing the songs.

Liquid Acrobat Re-release

There is talk that the US label Sepia Tone has licensed Liquid Acrobat as Regards the Air for a release during April/May of 2002.
