Decca released a rough demo mix of My Mind's Eye against the band's wishes. They had just finished a package tour with The Hollies in Newcastle and heard on the radio that this was due to be the next single. They went to see their manager Don Arden immediately who told them it was a good song. Nonetheless, this was one of the factors that led to the band leaving Arden's management.
