Where the Mystics Swim (Reissued)

With a US release planned for later this year, Mike felt the time was now right for someone to remix the album, enter Lawson Dando. Lawson, who usually works with Robin Williamson, took up the challenge and in the process has radically remixed and edited Where the Mystics Swim stripping away layers of percussion, keyboards, backing vocals and revealing the acoustic instruments lost in the original mix. With Mike's vocals now firmly up front in the mix, Lawson has created a more intimate and acoustic album, how it  should have been in the first place.

As an added bonus, a hidden track has been included of Mike's recent performance of Painting Box recorded live at the ISB reunion in Edinburgh.

Second time around already for an album that was only issued five years ago. Obviously unhappy with its sound quality, the tapes have been remixed and stripped back to their acoustic basics, creating a more intimate and relaxed feel, more in the vein of Mike's early Incredible String Band material.

Thirty-odd years on from his ISB heyday, Mike's voice has barely changed, though lyrically, the songs have matured and are, naturally, a million miles away from the mainstream. A remake of the late-period ISB track 1968 is included as a tribute to his old musical partner Robin Williamson. And with the ISB working together again now, there's a hidden track - a version of Painting Box from 1999's Edinburgh reunion.
